How long will a now convicted schemer be in prison?

Marian Morgan will find out in December. The Sarasota woman scammed investors out of 28 million dollars and was found guilty yesterday on 22 felony counts, that could net her 20 years. The trial took four weeks, and when she was found guilty on all counts, her defense attorney said he’d ask for a new trial, claiming problems with getting some evidence. Her husband and business partner John Morgan admitted to two of the 22 counts and told the court, through and affidavit that he knew from the beginning that the whole thing was contrived. Marian Morgan will be sentenced on December 20 and has already done two years in Sri Lanka and in Pinellas County Jail for the scheme.
