Charlotte County Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit detectives are investigating a shooting incident reported at 2:45 a.m. this morning. The driver stopped his vehicle at U.S. 41 and Tuckers Grade and called CCSO to report a white Ford Crown Victoria started passing his Chevrolet Avalanche on southbound U.S. 41, and fired several shots into his vehicle. The driver was shot in the leg and was transported by Charlotte County Fire/EMS to Lee Memorial Hospital for treatment; his passenger was not injured. The drivers condition reportedly is not life threatening.
