Florida Highway Patrol said Stephen B. Rozzelle, Jr. was traveling southbound on McIntosh Rd in the left lane when it veered left causing the left front to hit the curb of the raised median. Rozelle’s vehicle continued southeast and the front and left front of his car struck a divided median sign and post. It then crossed the northbound lanes of McIntosh Rd and went off the roadway onto
the east shoulder of McIntosh Rd. It then hit a fence and went into a pond. Rozelle, of Sarasota, was pronounced dead at the scene.
