Police in Charlotte County are asking for information on a hit and run driver that hit and injured a Charlotte County deputy Saturday night.
Officials say Deputy Matthew Chandler was turning from Aaron Street to Midway Boulevard around 630pm when a car cut him off. Chandler’s cruiser left the road and hit a fire hydrant, street light and fence.
A report from the sheriff’s office says the car stopped briefly, then left the scene. The other car is only described as a silver sedan.
Anyone with information is asked to call the FHP.
