An autopsy has revealed a bizarre cause of death in the case of a Clearwater woman who was found dead on a Venice lawn back in March.

On the night of March 15, Venice Police were called to a home in the 200 block of Park Boulevard after a body was spotted face-down in a lawn.

The woman, later identified as 23-year old Megan Kay Bennett, had gotten into an argument with her boyfriend earlier that night and threatened suicide. She allegedly then left his house on foot, then downed two bottles of caffeine pills.

A medical examiner’s report ruled her death as suicide by caffeine.
