The South Jetty (Humphris Park) is closed to the public until further notice due to high water and windy conditions, according to City of Venice Public Works. Following yesterday’s lightning strike at the Venice Community Center that facility also remains closed and will remain so until Sarasota County decides to reopen. The fire sprinkler/fire alarm systems are not functioning, and the water supply has been disrupted. Additionally, phones and Internet are down and the facility is operating off generators.
