Around 80,000 gallons of wastewater entered Wares Creek in Bradenton after a force main broke late Monday night. The 18-inch force main broke at the lift station on 8th Avenue W around midnight and crews were able to stop the spillage of wastewater into Wares Creek around 1am on Tuesday. Due to the emergency repair, 8th Avenue W is closed from Wares Creek Bridge to 15th Street W and 17th Street Ct W is closed from 8th Avenue W to Ballard Park Drive. The roads are expected to remain closed through Friday.
