After polls closed at 7 p.m. Eastern time, multiple county election websites across Florida experienced issues publishing results. Counties such as Leon, Palm Beach, Manatee, Sarasota, Broward, and others faced technical difficulties, with websites either being inaccessible or timing out.

The outage also initially impacted other Florida election offices that use Tallahassee-based software company VR Systems, according to Palm Beach County officials. Florida Secretary of State Cord Byrd addressed the situation in a press briefing Tuesday night, describing it as a “vendor issue.” He emphasized that the problem was related to the public-facing websites and did not affect the data or the votes being transmitted to the Department of State.

Byrd clarified that the issue was at the county level, and there was “no evidence at this juncture” to suggest that the technical difficulties were the result of a cyber attack.
