A group of volunteers spent Saturday morning working on storm drains in the city of Venice, hoping to let people know just where the trash they throw down the drains ends up.
The group called ‘Hands Along the Water’ put labels on drains reading “Illegal to dump – Drains to the Gulf.”
The labels also have a map showing just how the water makes its way out. Volunteers told ABC-7 that dumping is likely to cause algae blooms and other pollutants.
