A 49-year-old Venice woman remains hospitalized in serious condition after being hit by a car on Saturday. Wadia Khanzir was crossing Woodmere Park Boulevard just east of Jacaranda Blvd. around noon Saturday when she was hit by a car driven by another Venice woman. Police say 63-year old Minerva Vasquez-Farmer failed to yield the right of way to Khanzir, before making a left turn. She was hit and taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. The 63-year old was charged with failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign.
