A battle between the city of Venice and Sarasota County against a national environmental group is heating up. EWG, a nonprofit environmental research group has suggested the city of Venice’s water quality is not in compliance with state and federal drinking water requirements. The group says in a report that the city of Venice is in violation of ANY federal drinking standards from April of 2014 to March of this year. According to the Herald Tribune, the city of Venice and Sarasota County dispute that and stress that the city is in compliance with the guidelines set by the state and federal government.
