A team from Venice will be competing this Saturday in the World Food Championships at Orange Beach in Alabama. The Herald Tribune reports that they call themselves Chili Chili Bang Bang and they made it to the world championships by winning the Suncoast Barbecue and Bluegrass Bash in Venice last April. Bob Strayer, Stephen Conley, Joe Padula and Mike Saladino will be going for a 10-thousand dollar World Open Chili Championship title and qualify for a chance at the prize for best overall dish: 100-thousand dollars.
