A school teacher in Venice is the subject of a criminal investigation. The Herald-Tribune reports that 24-year-old Matthew Minton, who teaches social studies at the Island Village Montessori School, was put on administrative leave last Friday as the Venice Police Department launched its probe. The nature of Minton’s alleged wrongdoing is not yet public. School officials say they are not permitted to say anything about it. Meanwhile, Minton told the Herald-Tribune that he has done nothing wrong and is cooperating with Venice police. He said–quote–“I feel like I’ve ben born to teach. I love teaching.”
