Officials with Sarasota County and the city of Venice will meet tomorrow to try and hammer out a new parks maintenance agreement. City Manager Ed Lavallee told city council members this week he hopes to ensure there is just one government responsible for the 12 parks and community center, and also hopes to get the county to rescind a November letter terminating the current parks agreement. The county has proposed to take over Wellfield Park in Venice, and return the other 11 plus the community center to the city for scheduling and maintenance.
