A Venice man was killed when his motorcycle collided with a car on Saturday evening. It happened on State Road 776, south of Overbrook Road. The Florida Highway Patrol says 73-year-old Jack Spitler of Michigan was northbound in a Ford Edge when he made an improper U-turn at a break in the median. 21-year-old Christopher Fulgham, who was southbound on his Kawasaki Ninja, swerved to avoid the Ford, but the two vehicles collided. Fulgham was thrown from his motorcycle. He was transported to Venice Regional Hospital but died from his injuries. Spitler, who was not injured, is charged with making an improper U-turn.
