A proposed millage rate increase is in the works for Venice residents.

On Monday, the Venice City Council agreed to raise the 2018-19 millage rate by one-tenth of a mil.

They say that will bring in just shy of $385,000 in revenue- more than two-thirds of that going to a one-time cost of living increase for police pensions.

The remaining money -around $250,000- will go into the city reserves.
