A Venice man found guilty in a pair of 2011 murders will spend the rest of his life in prison.

Jurors came back with a 9-3 vote for the death penalty for John Allen Lee. Under Florida law, the vote has to be unanimous for the death sentence to be imposed. By default, Lee’s punishment was life behind bars.
Lee’s trial ended this week with him being found guilty- for the second time- in the murders seven years ago of Traci Nabergall and Jason Salter. Lee’s first trial ended in a mistrial, his second, he was found guilty, but that was overturned.
