A man with a huge rap sheet is behind bars after leading police in Venice on a chase that ended in a crash. Sarasota County deputies were called to a home in the 500 block of Beverly Road in Venice Sunday night for reports of an argument involving a gun. The victim told police he and 25-year old Zachary Beyer-Radford got into an argument when he pointed a gun and threatened the man. Police spotted Radford’s car on Tamiami Trial, and the chase was on until he eventually crashed. Police found him hiding under a van, and discovered 50 grams of methamphetamine, 121 grams of marijuana and a loaded handgun inside his car. Officials say Radford has been arrested at least a dozen times, and now faces charges of drug trafficking, weapons charges and aggravated assault.
