We’re finding out more about the new Venice Public Library. On Thursday, the designer presented his plans, which call for the project to be complete in the fall of 2018 on the existing library site. The new building will have a large children’s section and additional parking. It will also include a cafe and coffee area in the lobby, a bookstore and an area for local history and genealogy.The 50-year-old original library was closed earlier this year because of mold and Sarasota County opened a temporary library in the Hamilton building in October. Plans call for the old library to be demolished by spring and construction on the new Venice Public Library to begin next fall.
