The Venice Holiday Parade is set for Saturday. Pre-parade entertainment will begin at the corner of Harbor Drive and W. Venice Ave. and also at the corner of Nokomis Street and W. Venice Ave. at 5:30p. The Honor Guard will start things off, followed by the National Anthem. At dusk the downtown holiday lights and decorations will be lit. Chairs may be placed along the Holiday Parade route after 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22 by the public (at your own risk). No bleachers, couches, rope, stakes, tarps, or mats are allowed and will be removed by Venice Public Works. There will be parking at Venice High School, but Venice Avenue will be closed to traffic around 3p. The kids will get to see Santa, both at the start of the parade and in the end.
