Venice High School continues it quest for a state football championship tonight. The Indians are coming off a 43-to-14 victory over East Lake in the Class 7A regional final. Venice is ranked number-three in the Associated Press’ final high school football poll. Tonight in Fort Lauderdale, the Indians will take on Number One St. Thomas Aquinas. This is Venice High’s fourth trip to the state tournament but the first time in 14 years. The winner will take on either Robert E. Lee or Tampa Plant in the state title game, one week from tonight at Camping World Stadium in Orlando.
