Venice Ends Fight of Payments from Neal Communities

The Venice City Council on Tuesday ended its attempt to enforce payment of “extraordinary mitigation fees” paid by Neal Communities for land the city annexed.

The Herald-Tribune reports that under the agreement reached yesterday, the city must pay Neal more than $795,000 within the next ten days.

That’s the reimbursement for fees that were assessed for both Windwood and the VICA/Milano properties — as well as any fees paid to the city since March 1.

The city must also pay Neal an additional $160,000 in damages.
