A Venice dog groomer is under investigation after a video surfaced on social media of a woman allegedly choking a dog while it was getting groomed. Phyllis Lucca, owner of the Happy Puppy Pet Spa in Venice, denies the charges, saying she was holding a dog’s head while it passed out from stress caused by the grooming Lucca has been in business as a groomer for more than five decades She said she is now the subject of two investigations by the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office. One after a dog owner made a complaint about a pet’s condition, and another against a former employee, who took the video that has since gone viral.
