A dentist in Venice is going above and beyond to make sure area needy kids have plenty of gifts under the tree this year.
ABC-7 reports Dr. Donald Lackey, for the entire month, has been accepting Christmas gifts in lieu of payments from his patients.
So far, he’s already raised more than $15,000 worth of gifts and also plan to give more than 5 dozen families a dinner basket for the holidays.
Lackey has been a partner with the Venice Police Department for the past 24 years, handing out toys and food to some of the area’s most needy residents. The toys and food will be handed out on Saturday.
