The Venice attorney accused of stealing more than $700,000 from dead, former clients was granted disciplinary revocation by the Florida Supreme Court, a move “tantamount to disbarment.” Adam Miller faces charges of exploitation of the elderly over $50,000 and scheme to defraud. According to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, George and Eileen Johnston hired Miller as their trustee and power of attorney in August 2013 to control six financial accounts. Immediately following their deaths, Miller allegedly began to write and deposit high-dollar checks to himself or his law firm from accounts belonging to the Johnstons’ Trust. Prosecutors have said that said that there may be up to 20 additional victims and hundreds of thousands of dollars more still unaccounted for.
