A Venice attorney accused of stealing around a quarter of a million dollars from his clients was in court late last week. Adam Miller had already been charged with exploitation of the elderly and three charges for scheming to defraud. He was back in court Friday, answering to a new scheme to defraud charge on allegations he stole more than a half-million dollars from another victim. Last week, officials with the FBI and Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office found evidence of unauthorized bank withdrawals, the majority coming from clients who had already died. Officials say residents should look at Miller as a reminder to pay attention to any finances that are being managed by others.
