There is finally a date for when downtown Venice’s massive reconstruction project will begin.

The city council announced Tuesday that July 9th will be the day when the streets shut down.

Tampa, Venice and Miami Avenues will be torn up and redone over the summer and fall, causing several downtown events to move.

Among those is the farmers market, which Assistant City Manager Len Bramble told ABC-7 when everything is finished, he’d like to see the market move off West Tampa Street. The downtown reconstruction project is scheduled to end sometime around late December or early January.
