Proof that heroin remains a part of the community, two men were arrested in Charlotte County after a pair of overdose cases. Deputies got word of a local dealer and searched the home of 33-year-old Charles Andre of Punta Gorda. Andre’s 29-year-old brother, Chris, was also in the residence. The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office Methamphetamine Investigative Group also responded. These deputies are specially trained to collect and safely dispose of high hazard and volatile materials, such Fentanyl. A search of the home found marijuana, methamphetamine, cocaine, several other controlled substances and a gun. Both men were arrested and charged with several drug-related offenses, while Charles Andre is also a convicted felon and has been charged for the possession of a handgun.
