Two motorcyclists were taken in serious condition to Sarasota Memorial Hospital after a crash Monday afternoon in North Port. Police were called to the scene at Ortiz Dr. and US – 41 late yesterday afternoon. Both a male and female rider had been thrown from the bike in the crash. The woman’s leg was amputated in the wreck. There was no immediate word on what caused the crash. Charges -as of yet- have not been filed.
