At least two people are in serious condition after a multi-vehicle crash on US 41 and River Road. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, a vehicle traveling north on River Road failed to stop at the right light at the intersection of US 41 and t-boned an eastbound car. The force of the crash sent the northbound car into a spin, where it hit a third car. The identities of those involved were not released. The driver of the car who caused the crash was airlifted to Sarasota Memorial Hospital in serious condition. One other driver was hurt and taken to Venice Regional Bayfront Health.
