The City of Venice debris removal contractors will begin debris removal on city maintained roads in response to Hurricane Irma on Wednesday, Sept. 20. City contractors are currently prioritizing debris removal based on areas where Hurricane Irma has generated storm debris to the extent that these areas can be safely accessed to perform debris removal. Residents of impacted areas that can safely do so, are asked to place any storm-generated debris on the public right-of-way.

Sarasota County has resumed regular trash collection but those trucks will only take yard waste if it is bagged or bundled. Manatee County also has resumed trash collection but is not picking up the bigger yard items. Residents do not need to bundle storm debris, but if possible, separate into yard waste, construction materials and other items.
