A couple of traffic reminders for you: one–temporary single lane closures on Broadpoint Drive between Del Prado Parkway and Rushmore Avenue will begin on Tuesday, in Harbour Heights. Work in this area is to remove the old force main pipeline as part of the Harbour Heights sidewalk and force main project. Advance warning signs and flaggers will be onsite to direct traffic. And–two–The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office is paying special attention to traffic enforcement at several locations this week and continuing through New Year’s Day. Deputies will concentrate on speed enforcement along the entire length of Gasparilla Road in Englewood and on Flamingo Boulevard between Hillsborough Boulevard and Tamiami Trail in Port Charlotte. Traffic light enforcement will be the focus at South McCall Road and Gasparilla Road in Englewood and at Tamiami Trail and Toledo Blade Boulevard in Port Charlotte.
