The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office has announced it will pay special attention to traffic enforcement in several Port Charlotte locations from today through next Sunday. Speed enforcement will take place on US 41 or Tamiami Trail between Cranberry and Veterans boulevards. And there will be traffic light enforcement at these intersections: US 41 and Toledo Blade Boulevard and US 41 and Murdock Circle. According to the Department of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles, Charlotte County has had 24 vehicle deaths so far this year; there were 21 deaths this same time last year.
