ENGLEWOOD — Three men were rescued after their boat that capsized in the Gulf of Mexico.

The episode happened off Englewood, about 1:20 p.m. Thursday, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

The 23-foot center console Cobia boat began taking on water and they notified the Coast Guard. While the Coast Guard was rushing to them, the boat capsized throwing the three men into the Gulf.
Thanks to the efforts of the a good Samaritan and a SeaTow boat the men were retrieved from the water.

One of the rescued experienced a medical emergency and way taken to an area hospital.

All three of the men were wearing life jackets which resulted in their survival noted the Coast Guard.
