Police did not release many details, but one man was arrested after a three-hour long standoff in North Port yesterday.
Around 2pm, police say the suspect ran away from officers and barricaded himself inside a home on Cuthbert Avenue.
No residents were evacuated, although police did ask neighbors to shelter in place.
Around 5pm, police took the man into custody. There was no immediate word on the man’s identity nor what triggered him to to run in the first place.
