An unrelated domestic battery charge unwittingly led Charlotte County Sheriff’s deputies to a wanted man.
On Friday, Daniel Bouchard was brought in on a battery charge, only for police to discover he was involved in a shooting that occurred in the neighborhood of Gulf Cove on June 6th.
Police say Bouchard went to the home on Curry Terrace in Port Charlotte to sell what he claimed was drugs, but instead was fake cocaine. Police say that deal gone bad led to shots being fired.
He now faces additional charges.
