Local and federal officials in Lakeland are searching for who stole three dozen handguns and assault rifles from a local gun store. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office says 26 handguns and ten long guns were stolen Sunday night from the Titan Arms store on Florida Avenue. Authorities say four accused thieves fled in a later-model extended cab pickup truck with chrome embellishments on the grill, wheels, and front bumper. Federal law enforcement at the ATF contributed toward an eight-thousand dollar reward leading to arrests in this case. Anyone with information on the gun thefts is asked to contact Heartland Crime Stoppers. Tipsters can remain anonymous and obtain the reward.
