The University of South Florida are looking for respondents to their Hurricane Ian Evacuation Study.

This study is being conducted at the University of South Florida and is supported/sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF). The purpose of the study is to better understand the decision to stay at home, evacuate to a shelter, or evacuate to an area outside of the threat. By better understanding the decision-making process and individuals’ experiences during Hurricane Ian, they can recommend courses of action to the government for messaging and evacuation communications. As researchers in the Geosciences and public health, we are interested in understanding an individual’s risk perceptions of the threat of hurricane hazards vs. COVID-19. This research will involve completing a 10 – 15-minute online survey through the platform Qualtrics.
