An airport in Tennessee is aiming to be the next destination for passengers heading to and from Punta Gorda airport. Officials with the Tri-Cities Airport in Bristol and Johnson City, Tennessee are taking their pitch to Allegiant Air in hopes of getting service from northeast Tennessee to Punta Gorda. Allegiant already flies from that airport to Orlando-Sanford and St. Petersburg, and from Punta Gorda to two other nearby airports. Officials say they aren’t exactly hopeful about the pitch to Allegiant, but plan to make their case this month.
