A 15-year old student at North Port High School has been arrested after bringing a gun to campus on Wednesday.
Police say the boy was showing the pistol to students- one told school officials about the gun.
The boy tried to run from the school when it was put on a soft lockdown. He was captured near North Port Utilities, the gun was recovered in some nearby woods.
The teenager is now facing a pair of felony charges- having a concealed weapon and then bringing it on campus.
The school district is not commenting on the incident. Police are continuing to investigate.
