Three people who robbed a convenience store in Ellenton are still missing and the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office says the robbery was over cigarettes. Deputies say two men and a woman went into a Shell station on 20th Street East shortly before 5:30am Tuesday morning. The female suspect asked the clerk for cigarettes while one of the men acted as if he had a handgun. The report says the two men stole multiple cartons of cigarettes while the woman steered the clerk away from the area of the cigarettes. All three then drove away. No description of the vehicle or the suspects has been given.
