Say so long to BB&T and SunTrust. The two banks announced a merger yesterday to create a new bank valued at nearly $66B to be the 6th largest bank in the country.
The new combined company will be based in Charlotte with a board split between representatives of the two companies. A new name for the bank is expected to be announced by the end of the year.
People with accounts at either bank will not be affected.
