In what may be a good sign for the Suncoast economy, foreclosure filings were down in 2016, in fact down to their lowest point in 10 years. There were 472 home foreclosures in Charlotte County last year, down 10 percent from 2015. And there were 12-hundred-76 foreclosures in Sarasota County, a drop of five percent.
