Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Venice Police responded to a call of a crashed vehicle at Albee Farm Road and Laurel Road Tuesday morning. Someone from the vehicle, which was stolen, ran into the woods after the traffic stop. An SCSO helicopter was in the area searching for the suspect, who was found hiding in a mangrove island in a waterway. A pair of boats were dispatched, and the suspect, 53-year-old James W. Stansberry Jr., was arrested around 10am.
