Florida State Senator Greg Steube will be leaving his post in order to run for the US House seat that will be vacated when Tom Rooney’s term expires later this year. The 17th U.S. Congressional District covers nine counties, including southern Sarasota County and all of Charlotte County. Steube said he’s running because “Washington is broken, it needs to serve the people it was intended to serve.” Steube has only been a STATE Senator for about 15 months since winning that election in November of 2016.
