An Englewood man is facing a number of charges involving fraud and burglary, including the burglary of his own mother’s house. That happened last month when the victim reported several power tools and accessories missing from her home on Cedar Street. She told sheriff’s detectives that she suspected her son and they subsequently confirmed that 24-year-old James O’Neill had pawned the stolen items at a shop in North Port. O’Neill is also accused of stealing six checks from the Englewood Animal Rescue Sancturary Animal Hospital. He was arrested Tuesday and reportedly admitted to taking the checks by using a key to the animal hospital belonging to his mother, who used to work there. O’Neill was being held without bond.
