A report released by the Florida Department of Health has discovered the source of a Legionnaires Disease outbreak at a North Port subdivision. The bacteria was found in a hot water heater in the fitness area at IslandWalk. The health department also tested the pool and spa, but results there came back negative. Despite the negative results, officials say that was likely the area where residents came in contact with the bacteria. 13 residents of the subivision tested positive for Legionnaires last month.
