The Charlotte County Airport in Punta Gorda could soon be getting even more competition from its neighbor to the north.
Manatee County’s Tourist Development Council yesterday recommended that the county tourism bureau give more than $1M to Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport to reimburse airlines for marketing new flights to and from the airport.
Allegiant Air- Punta Gorda’s only passenger carrier- recently added three flights from Sarasota earlier this year.
