5,500 gallons of unknown water spilled on Sunday after a lift station failure in Sarasota. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection confirmed this and issued a notice about the spill that happened at around Noon in the 7200 block of Bounty Drive in the Gulf Gate neighborhood in Sarasota. According to the report, that station was found in high water and none of the the three pumps were operational. This caused the release of approximately 5,500 gallons that could not be recovered.
