A 911 call that came into the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office Thursday was due to the death of a 51-year-old man. The call was made by the daughter of the deceased when she returned to the home. The man who was found dead in Port Charlotte has been identified as 51-year Patrick Mulligan. The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office says Mulligan’s son, 34-year-old Jeffrey Mulligan has been charged with murder. The incident began as a domestic disturbance. No weapons were used. The defendant has had run-ins with the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office before.
